Punjab Chief Minister (CM)
Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired a special meeting to review the latest developments
in the 3-Marla Free Plot Scheme and the provision of housing loans to
beneficiaries. This initiative aims to provide affordable housing solutions to
low-income families across Punjab.
During the meeting, CM Maryam
Nawaz directed the authorities to revitalize and enhance 23 existing housing
schemes under the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) in 19
districts. She also stressed the immediate disbursement of funds to expedite
construction and development efforts.
Highlighting the government’s
commitment to affordable housing, she stated, “Providing shelter to the
homeless is a top priority. The ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ initiative is
transforming lives by ensuring homeownership for underprivileged families.”
The Director General of PHATA
provided a comprehensive briefing on the project’s progress, revealing that 9,661
houses are near completion across Punjab. Moreover, the scheme has achieved a 100%
repayment rate on housing loans, showcasing its success and financial
sustainability.
CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized the
need for timely project completion and urged PHATA to meet its housing targets
by March. This underscores the Punjab government’s dedication to expanding
low-cost housing schemes, ensuring that deserving individuals can secure a home
