The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has made a
significant stride in modernizing its operations by launching an online system
for the submission and approval of residential building plans. This initiative,
reported on August 16, is part of LDA's continuous efforts to enhance citizen
services and streamline urban development processes.
As of now, the LDA Citizen Facilitation Centre, also
known as the One Window Cell, is accepting residential building plans through
its newly launched online portal. In its initial phase, the LDA E-Khidmat
Centre has successfully received 12 building plans from private housing
schemes, with the respective challans being issued digitally. The entire
process, from submission to approval, is now conducted online, offering a more
efficient and transparent experience for citizens.
During a recent review at the E-Khidmat Centre, LDA
Director General Tahir Farooq expressed his satisfaction with the online
process. He emphasized the authority's commitment to reducing the time required
for the approval of residential building plans and highlighted the intention to
phase out the traditional physical submission system in favor of this digital
approach.
Chief Town Planners Azhar Ali and Asad Uz Zaman
briefed the LDA DG on the progress and potential benefits of the new system.
The shift to an online platform marks a significant advancement in making urban
planning more accessible and user-friendly for Lahore's residents. This digital
transformation is expected to expedite the approval process, contributing to
greater transparency and convenience for citizens, in line with LDA's mission
to provide top-quality services to the public.
