KPK Government has
introduced a Geographical Information System (GIS) based centralized urban
immovable property tax management and information system called (CUIPTIMIS) to modernize
the whole property tax system across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
As per the sources, a launch
event was arranged at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar where many notable
personalities were present including KP Chief Minister as Chief Guest. This new
property tax system has been implemented for PKR 96 Million. Currently, this
new system is rolled out in two districts only which includes Nowshera and Abbottabad.
In contrast, the rest of the areas will be covered over some time.
There are new property
units identified in Abbottabad and Nowshera Districts as a part of this new
system and the tax demand has risen from PKR 69 Million to PKR 123 Million in Nowshera
while in Abbottabad it increased from PKR 83 Million to PKR 143 Million.
This initiative aims to
boost tax collection and to ensure better services to taxpayers across the
province of KPK with transparency and efficiency.
